Lil Nas X collaborates with Coach for winter capsule collection

Another collaboration between Lil Nas X and Coach closes out the year of 2023. Titled “The Lil Nas X Drop”, Coach has given the popular singer “creative reigns” on the design of this capsule collection, working alongside Coach’s creative director Stuart Vevers.

This collection featured a colorful and cozy clothing selection aiming to bring a sense of fun into winter nightlife. Vevers noted the special influence of both his and Nas’ styles in the development of the project.

“Our Winter collection is inspired by my belief that fashion is about exploring and celebrating all of who you are,” said Vevers. “To create the collection, we twisted the Coach archives and were also inspired by Lil Nas X’s connection to music and nightlife. We evolved heritage styles introduced on the runway last season by amplifying color, texture, and graphics to create pieces that celebrate our love for individuality and authentic self-expression that we share.”

In an email exchange with GQ, Lil Nas X shared the way fashion impacted his music production alongside his favorite pieces from the collection.

“I’ve always had so much fun with fashion – it’s become a big part of my life and a huge form of expression for me. I feel like the cool thing is that it helps you be whoever you want to be on any given day,” wrote the Singer. “It also plays a big part in helping create the world around my music, and that has continuously evolved throughout the different eras in my career so far. And it always will.”

“The bright, bright pink shearling Tabby. That’s a statement right there. Feels good too,” answered Lil Nas X when asked what was his favorite piece.

Lil Nas X began working with Coach in 2022 when he appeared in the campaign unveiling the brand’s “Courage to Be Real” campaign. Lil Nas X became one of many Coach’s global brand ambassadors including Korean rapper Younji-Lee, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, and Megan Thee Stallion.

The Lil Nas X Drop has been available for purchase since December 26 on Coach’s website.
