Bio

Little Simz, born Simbiatu Abisola Abiola Ajikawo in North London, is a remarkable talent making waves in the UK hip-hop scene. Her journey from local youth clubs to international acclaim is a testament to her unwavering passion and remarkable artistry.

Simz’s early inspiration came from Missy Elliot, and at just seven years old, she fell in love with hip-hop. This passion only grew as she explored the works of Lauryn Hill, Tupac, Nas, and Jay-Z. Her creative journey began at her local youth club, where she freestyled and collaborated with peers, setting the stage for her future in music.

As an actor, Simz started in series like “Spirit Warriors” and “Youngers.” However, it was her music that truly defined her. She released several mixtapes and EPs, garnering attention, including a nod from Jay-Z for her mixtape “Blank Canvas.”

In 2021, Simz released “Sometimes I Might Be Introvert,” a highly anticipated album that showcased her musical versatility. It debuted at Number 4 on the UK Albums Chart and explored themes related to her identity as both an artist and an introvert.

Little Simz’s star continued to rise as she made history by headlining London’s Brixton Academy, becoming the first woman to achieve this feat. In 2022, she clinched a BRIT Award for Best New Artist.

Little Simz’s story is one of determination, authenticity, and an unyielding commitment to her craft. She has etched her name in the annals of UK hip-hop as a dynamic force to be reckoned with, and her journey is far from over.
