On Monday, the pop star announced that fans will soon be able to enter the “Lizzoverse”, an immersive light show experience set to her second studio album, SPECIAL, which is expected to be released on Friday. The light show, which is presented by American Express, will give members with an American Express card the opportunity to see the show on July 15.
“I’m not a star…I’m a whole damn universe!” Lizzo captioned an Instagram post where she announced the event. “Register for this once-in-a-lifetime cosmic event…where YOU can experience my new album ‘SPECIAL’ in my intergalactic universe ALL WEEKEND LONG.”
The intergalactic show will see Lizzo and the Big Grrrls performing to celebrate SPECIAL. Only a few selected American Express card members will be able to hear the playback performance in person, and will also have the chance to purchase exclusive merch.

We are so excited to continue collaborating with her to bring a one-of-a-kind album release experience of her new album SPECIAL to our Card Members…” Shiz Suzuki, Vice President of Global Experiential Marketing & Partnerships at American Express said in a statement.
The audiovisual planetarium show will take place in New York City’s Cipriani 25 Broadway, with shows starting every two hours from Saturday to Sunday. Amazon Music will also live stream the full show through Twitch.
