Reggaeton Artist of the Month for May 2025

Bio

Juan Luis Londoño Arias aka Maluma, is a popular Colombian singer. Born in Medellín Colombia, Maluma first developed an interest in music as a teenager and became skilled at singing while in highschool.

Maluma recorded his first song, No quiero, at age 15 and impressed some producers during an opportunity to record at a studio offered by his uncle.

After creating his stage name, Maluma officially began his music career in 2010. Following the success of his single Farandulera, he was signed on with Sony Music Colombia, and eventually released his first studio album Magia.

Maluma’s popularity continued to climb thanks to the massive success of his second album, Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy,  leading to collaborations with other Latin artists including, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Prince Royce, Jason Derulo, and even Elvis Crespo on the theme song for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Additionally, outside of his music career Maluma appeared as a judge on The Voice Kids.
