Mark Kauzlarich is a photographer originally from Wisconsin but based in New York when he’s not travelling the globe as a National Geographic explorer. With a master’s in journalism and and a dual bachelor’s in political science and Middle East studies he uses the camera as a way to tell stories, and often he chooses to show the stories of the disenfranchised and forgotten. He did an extensive series in a tiny midwestern town showing the different faces and struggles of life on the outskirts. He has worked with The New York Times, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, TIME, Reuters and many, many more.
