Marshmello, is the stage name for the American DJ and producer, Christopher Comstock. Marshmello is a globally acclaimed DJ known for his electronic dance music and of course his iconic marshmallow shaped mask. His credentials include producing multi-platinum songs like “Silence,” “Wolves,” “Happier,” “Friends, and “Alone,” as well as collaborating with other known performers including Slushii, Ookay, Jauz, and Omar LinX.

Part of what helped launch Marshmello into fame is his custom helmet which he wears whenever he performs. The helmet is shaped like a marshmallow (a nod to his name), and has a smiley face with x’s for eyes on the front. The masked performer wielded his hidden identity for many years to help him amass fame as fans enjoyed the mystery of not knowing what he actually looked like, then in 2016 he had a dramatic face reveal.

Despite revealing his identity, Marshmello is still very successful and known for wearing the mask during performances. Marshmello was inspired by the work and persona created by Joel Thomas Zimmerman, also known as Deadmau5 (“dead mouse”). The two DJs even collaborated together on Marshmello’s music video “Alone.” Before becoming a chart topper though, Marshmello started out by remixing songs by artists like Zedd and Jack Ü.
