Captain America is officially headed back to the big screen next year. Marvel Studios announced that principal photography has begun on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. According to the press release, the movie picks up where The Avengers left off, “as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.” In addition to Scarlett Johansson’s return as Black Widow, the movie is set to have an all-star supporting cast, including Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Jones, and Robert Redford, who will play Agent Alexander Pierce, a “senior leader within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization.” April 4, 2014, can’t come soon enough! At least we have Iron May 3 this summer to tide us over.
