Maya Weug Becomes First Female in Ferrari Driver Academy

16 -year-old Maya Weug has officially become the first female driver in the Ferrari Driver Academy. She won the FIA programme Girls on Track, which was first introduced by the FIA and Ferrari and is meant to support young girls who have a dream of racing. 

The Ferrari Driving Academy prepares young drivers for the world of motorsports. During the evaluation camp in Maranello, Italy, she beat 17-year-old Doriane Pin, 14-year-old Antonella Bassani, and 15-year-old Julia Ayoub. After coming out on top, both the academy and Weug were thrilled to see her accomplish her dreams. 

Maya Weug was born in Spain and has been racing since a young age. After making it to the academy, she said, “I will never forget this day. I was so happy to be the first female driver to join the Ferrari Driver Academy.” Weug has a bright future ahead of her and has already become a role model for young girls around the world.
