Due to inclement weather, the final two games of a massive series between the Braves and Mets have been moved to doubleheader on Monday. These two games will have serious playoff implications for New York, Atlanta, and Arizona. All three teams are vying for the last two wild card spots, as San Diego has already clinched the first one.
Starting Friday, the Mets will enter a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brew Crew has nothing left to play for as they have already clinched their division and cannot move up or down from the number three seed.
They will probably not push their starting pitchers or bullpen too far which would give New York a better chance to win those games. NY has yet to announce their probable pitchers for any of the next five games which is an interesting note considering two games should have been played in the last 48 hours. That said, no matter who is on the mound, if the Mets go 4-1 or better over their final five games, they’re in.
Going through all three teams and their schedule can be a little confusing, so below is a chart from Jack Sommers that clears things up a bit.
