  1. The High Note

The High Note is a mix of a comedy and a drama that stars big names like Dakota Johnson and Tracee Ellis Ross. We follow the life of Maggie Sherwoode (Dakota Johnson) who is an aspiring music producer but for the time being, is an assistant to popular singer, Grace Davis (Tracee Ellis Ross). After meeting an aspiring musician, Maggie lies about her status as a producer and lands a job working with this musician on an album. As the movie progresses, Grace Davis begins facing issues trying to be true to herself and her sound but also please her pop audience despite her aged image. Although she is forced to confront the lie she has told, no one can deny Maggie’s talent.

2. The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man was released on February 28th, 2020 by Universal Pictures but was only in theatres for four weeks due to the pandemic and thus was made available for digital rental instead. The science-fiction horror movie received amazing reviews and ratings. A woman by the name of Cecilia Kass (Elisabeth Moss) escapes an abusive relationship one night after drugging her husband Adrian Griffin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). Cecilia seeks shelter with a childhood friend and is almost relieved when it is announced her husband has committed suicide. But she begins to see things that lead her to believe her husband faked his death. We follow her journey to discover how and why his presence still haunts her no matter where she hides.

3. The Way Back

The Way Back starring Ben Affleck was released in theaters on March 6th, 2020 but was later moved to own digitally on March 24th due to the pandemic. Ben Affleck plays an alcoholic divorcee who works as a construction worker named Jack Cunningham. His family expresses their concern for his drinking problem but their disappointment fails to give a promising solution. In an odd turn of events, Jack receives a call from his old basketball coach requesting him to step in as the new coach. Although hesitant, Jack agrees. We get to see Jack’s internal battle with his alcoholism and personal life but also his determination to overcome a losing season.
