MSG and YES team up to create Gotham Sports

For decades YES (Yankees Entertainment and Sports) Network has carried both Brooklyn/New Jersey Nets and Yankees games as well as other content surrounding the teams. They even recently started broadcasting New York Liberty WNBA games too. Meanwhile, MSG Network has held the Knicks, Rangers, Devils, Islanders, and Sabres games, while also producing New York Giants content.

Back in January, the two announced that they would be teaming up to create Gotham Advanced Media and Entertainment (“GAME”). The new Network will be a one-stop shop for all of the games and content for the teams mentioned above.

“This joint venture with YES will combine the streaming expertise of two of the largest regional sports networks in the country. With the formation of GAME, we seek to marry our collective insight, expertise, and best-in-class technology not only to explore enhancements to our own products but also to offer other networks, teams, and sports properties an efficient way to launch a state-of-the-art streaming service. We are excited to partner with YES to create solutions for third-party content providers looking for a seamless way to reach new audiences,” said Andrea Greenberg, CEO of MSG Network.

The streaming service made its hockey debut last week holding streams for New Jersey, Buffalo, and both New York teams. The site and its mobile app are very customizable allowing users to follow their favorite teams and players and never miss a goal, basket, or home run.
