With the self-given title of “Queen of glow jobs,” American Nam Vo’s distinctively dewy makeup style has catapulted her from being a bridal makeup artist in the Bay Area into the styling rooms of some of today’s hottest celebrities. The official makeup artist of Real Techniques’ expert use of highlighter is evident through just a second’s scroll on her Instagram. Vo is perhaps best known for creating the “Dewy Dumpling” technique, which results in unbelievably radiant skin paired with “ultra-highlighted” cheekbones that could (probably) be seen from outer space. Kylie Jenner, Michelle Phan, and Chrissy Teigen have all converted to the #DewyDumpling gospel in recent years–not to mention the millions of people on social media who have taken to emulating Vo’s glossy prowess.

Aside from being an MUA, Nam Vo also advocates for prioritizing one’s skincare, which she says holds importance for Vietnamese women such as herself. She recommends micro-needling, LED, micro current, and radiofrequency–all techniques for stimulating collagen, strengthening facial muscles, and regenerating skin cells over time.
