NBA Finals

If you’re anything like me, basketball season feels like it goes on forever. We’re approaching the NBA finals, and the two teams who will be competing against each other have been announced: the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors! This will be the fourth consecutive year the Cavaliers and the Warriors have competed against each other for the 2018 NBA champion title. Game 1 starts on Thursday, May 31st, and Game 7 ends on Sunday, June 17th, if necessary. Both the Cavaliers and the Warriors played 7 games in their respective conferences, and getting to the finals hasn’t been easy. Last year, the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, but in 2016, the Cavaliers won the title. In 2015, The Golden State Warriors won. If this pattern continues, the Cleveland Cavaliers should win the title this year. We’ll have to wait and see!

This bill makes it illegal for anyone to promote same-sex relationships or suggests that non-heterosexual orientations are “normal.” This is, in part, a defense against US influence in Russia since the president equated the US’s LGBTQ freedom to devil worshipping and did not understand the need for that freedom to be expanded worldwide: “Let them live there, do not touch us.”

Op-Ed: Football: The Field of Concussions

While American football is seen as an extremely popular, fun, and worldly-viewed contact sport, it is also the demise of a myriad of brains. And, I believe, an inhumane way of slowly and subconsciously targeting quality of life through tackles and body slams. A sport responsible for the deterioration of not only the brain but also human life.

Women’s NCAA Reseeding: The Sweet 16

The pot is stirring for the women’s NCAA tournament! Be careful placing your bet; many things are uncertain this year in the women’s NCAA Sweet 16 tournament. On Saturday, we had huge comebacks; three teams rallied from at least 16 points down to win on the same day.

Veteran QB Aaron Rodgers in Limbo as Trade Talks Reach Standstill

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has made his intentions clear this off-season: he has seen all he has wanted to see from the Green Bay Packers.  He’s ready to move onto the greener pasture (and depleted quarterback room) that is the New York Jets. The New York Jets want the exact same thing.

2023 NFL Draft: Cowboys Trade for Texans WR Brandin Cooks

The Dallas Cowboys made an unexpected trade acquiring Houston Texans veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks. The Cowboys will receive Cooks for a fifth-round pick in 2023 and a sixth-round pick in 2024. Cooks’ $18 million salary in 2023 is guaranteed. His contract has been restructured so that Houston will pay $6 million of his salary and Dallas will pay the remaining $12 million, according to ESPN. He is under contract until 2024.
