NBA Finals

If you’re anything like me, basketball season feels like it goes on forever. We’re approaching the NBA finals, and the two teams who will be competing against each other have been announced: the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors! This will be the fourth consecutive year the Cavaliers and the Warriors have competed against each other for the 2018 NBA champion title. Game 1 starts on Thursday, May 31st, and Game 7 ends on Sunday, June 17th, if necessary. Both the Cavaliers and the Warriors played 7 games in their respective conferences, and getting to the finals hasn’t been easy. Last year, the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, but in 2016, the Cavaliers won the title. In 2015, The Golden State Warriors won. If this pattern continues, the Cleveland Cavaliers should win the title this year. We’ll have to wait and see!

Trouble in Paradise: James Harden’s Frustration in Brooklyn

Last night on the Barclays Center, a shorthanded Brooklyn Nets fell to the Los Angeles Lakers 106-96, the second game in a row that they’ve lost. You may have not noticed it, but the Nets have quietly been on a disappointing run, in the last 15 games, the Nets have gone 6-9. It also didn’t help that, before Tuesday night’s matchup, a report came out that indicated that James Harden does not enjoy living in Brooklyn.

Kansas City Chiefs Defeats the Buffalo Bills in Classic Overtime Playoff Battle

Last night in Arrowhead Stadium, possibly one of the best games in NFL playoff history went down. We witnessed two great next-generation quarterbacks go back and forth as Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen put on a clinic in an epic AFC divisional round clash in the NFL playoffs.

    The Problem With Julius Randle

Saying that the Knicks are having a disappointing season would be an understatement. After the previous season where the team surprised everyone with a 4th seed finish, Knicks fans had high expectations for the team that now, after 46 games, seems like they were never going to be met. There are a lot of reasons for this, coaching, inconsistency, bad free-throw shooting, etc., but there is one saga that I’ve been seeing unfold that has gotten under my skin and today I want to talk about it. My problem with the Knicks’ “star” player, Julius Randle.

    The Brooklyn Nets’ Kyrie Dilemma

After the Brooklyn Nets finally allowed Kyrie Irving to play with the team with the caveat that he can only play away games, it now seems as though that only brings more questions and issues for the team to have to consider. I believe that the Net’s front office is at a crossroads right now due to the off and on nature of when Kyrie is available to play and with Kevin Durant out for a couple of weeks due to an injury, the team might just have to make a decision if they want to keep their seeding in the Eastern Conference.

Naomi Osaka Advances in First Day of Djokovic-less Australian Open

In all the drama surrounding Novak Djokovic’s attempts to participate in the Australian Open, which ultimately lead to him being deported on the eve of this year’s first Grand Slam tournament, the returns of heavyweights like Naomi Osaka and Rafael Nadal have been overshadowed. However, that did not phase the tennis star at all, as Osaka advanced on Day 1 of the Australian Open.

Djokovic Faces Deportation After Australia Revokes His Visa Again

The ongoing saga over whether Novak Djokovic will be able to compete in the Australia Open just got a new development. Djokovic now faces deportation again as the Australian government revoked his visa for a second time. The No. 1-ranked tennis player has been unsuccessfully trying to compete in the Australian Open despite being unvaccinated for COVID-19.
