NBC Looks to Brooklyn to Find its Peter Pan

Following the success of last year’s live musical adaptation of The Sound of Music, NBC announced that they will once again stage a beloved musical live on TV. This year’s show is Peter Pan and its cast is starting to shape up in exciting ways. NBC has previously announced that famed actor Christopher Walken would play Captain Hook and this week, the network announced that Allison Williams, one of the star’s of HBO’s Girls and daughter of NBC news anchor Brian Williams, will play the title role when the production airs on December 4. “I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true,” Williams said in a statement. While she’s not known for her singing, Williams has made no secret of her love for the theater, telling UK GQ last year that she’s “obsessive” about it. With the roles of Wendy, Tinkerbell and others still to be cast, we’re excited to see who will be joining Williams and Walked in their trip to Neverland.
