Native New Yorker, Noah Tepperberg has found success in numerous endeavors. His influence on the hospitality world is international. Most notably, Tepperberg and his partners are the masterminds behind some of the most successful nightclub and restaurant brands to open in the past decade, including Marquee, Tao, Avenue and Lavo.
In 1997, Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss founded Strategic Hospitality Group offering consumers a premium nightlife experience through their various events and venues. Former hot spots include: Southampton staples Conscious Point (1999), Jet East (2002), and Dune (2007) as well as Manhattan boites Luahn (2000) and the original Suite 16 (2001).
In 2003, Tepperberg and Strauss opened Marquee nightclub in New York City which quickly became one of the most famous and respected clubs in the world and landed the duo at the epicenter of the worldwide nightlife scene. Soon thereafter, the duo partnered with Tao founders Marc Packer and Rich Wolf to open TAO at The Venetian in Las Vegas.
After the successful launch of LAVO Restaurant & Nightclub at The Palazzo Hotel Casino Resort in Las Vegas in 2008 Tepperberg, Strauss, Packer and Wolf went on to form the Tao Group which has since grown to be one of the largest hospitality groups in the United States.
In 2009 they introduced AVENUE, in New York’s trendy Chelsea neighborhood. In 2010, they opened LAVO Restaurant & Nightclub in New York and Beauty & Essex with co-owner and Chef Chris Santos.
In 2011, they opened Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and launched Dream Downtown Hotel in New York City where the team operates all of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets including room service, Bodega Negra, Ph-D Rooftop Lounge, and Electric Room lounge.
In 2012, Tepperberg and his TAO Group partners made their first international foray with the debut of Marquee at The Star Casino & Hotel in Sydney, Australia. In 2013, the group once again raised the bar on nightlife with the introduction of TAO Downtown in New York City.
In 2016 they opened Vandal New York and Beauty & Essex at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and also took over the food and beverage operations at Dream Midtown in New York City which includes 3 venues (PHD Terrace, The Rickey and The Fishbowl).
On February 1, 2017 Tepperberg along with his partners announced a first of its kind deal to sell a majority stake in Tao Group to The Madison Square Garden Company. Tepperberg and his partners retained a substantial stake in the Tao Group and continue to operate the company day to day, together with MSG’s portfolio of acclaimed live entertainment experiences and complementary venues.
In 2017 Tao Group expanded to Los Angeles with the opening of Tao, Beauty & Essex, Avenue, Luchini Pizza and The Highlight Room at Dream Hollywood where they also operate all of the food and beverage for the hotel.
In 2017 Tao Group announced a partnership with Lightstone Group to open 4 hotel properties in NYC starting with the Moxy Times Square hotel which includes Legasea Seafood Brasserie, Egghead and Magic Hour Rooftop.
In 2018 Tao Group launched its first international outpost of Lavo on the world famous sky deck of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and they also expanded to Chicago with the opening of TAO Nightclub and Restaurant.
In 2019 the Group launched Marquee and Avenue at Marina Bay Sands along with Koma – a new upscale Japanese restaurant concept all at The Shoppes inside Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. 2019 also saw the opening of Moxy Chelsea hotel which includes Feroce Ristorante and The Fleur Room.
Tepperberg and Strauss accolades include receiving the Nightclub & Bar’s “Hospitality Operator of the Year” Award in 2006 for their work with Marquee and TAO, as well as being honored by Harvard Business School in March 2009 with a published case study about the dynamic duo’s myriad of businesses: “Marquee – The Business of Nightlife.” They were also named by In the Mix as two of the ‘50 Most Powerful People in Electronic Dance Music’ 2013 and by Billboard as two of the ‘Power 50 People in Dance Music’ 2014.
After graduating from Stuyvesant High School, Tepperberg earned a BBA degree in Business Management from the University of Miami and currently resides in New York City.
