Northern Michigan University’s Anthony Herbert Dies at 20


 

Yesterday, it was announced by school officials that starting left guard Anthony Herbert passed away in his dorm. ESPN reported that Herbert went for a morning workout, had breakfast, and then returned to his room. No word yet on the details of his passing. EMT’s were called into Herbert’s dorm but were unsuccessful in attempting to resuscitate him. “Anthony’s passing is felt deeply by many. He made a positive impact on our campus and was everything we hope for in a student-athlete. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and teammates, and we are focused on supporting them during this difficult time,” stated Forrest Karr, NMU’s athletic director.     Ohio St. Apologizes to MSU Hockey Player Over Racial Slurs

    Ohio State University athletic director Gene Smith has issued a formal apology to Michigan State University hockey forward Jagger Joshua after he accused a Buckeyes player of hurling a racial slur “multiple times” at him during a game earlier this month. According to Joshua, who is Black and plays for MSU’s Spartans team, the racist incident happened on Nov. 11, when OSU visited East Lansing and lost 4-3. While Joshua did not specify the exact words said to him on the ice, the Buckeyes player allegedly responsible for the abuse has been identified as forward Kamil Sadlocha.

    Qatar 2022 group stages continue with yet more surprises. This Tuesday morning was Argentina’s debut against Saudi Arabia. Even though Argentina’s forward and soccer superstar Lionel Messi scored the first goal of the match, this was not enough to overpower Saudi Arabia’s strong spirit, who finished the game 2-1 with a score by Al-Dawsari.
