A brand-new festival focused on Korean food and culture will be hitting the streets of New York City this weekend. While NYC is no stranger to cultural festivals, Korea Fest will be the city’s first-ever event dedicated solely to Korean culture.
“Come join us at Culture Lab LIC for a day filled with all things Korean—from delicious food to K-Pop dance performances,” reads the festival’s introductory post on Eventbrite. “Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Korea right here in New York City. Whether you’re a K-Pop fanatic, a kimchi enthusiast, a Korean beauty fan, or just curious to learn more about Korea, this event has something for everyone. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to experience a taste of Korea in NYC!”
Korea Fest will be held in Long Island City this Saturday from 2 PM to 9 PM EST at Culture Lab LIC. Festivalgoers will be able to try out various popular Korean foods and other products, including technology, beauty, and more.
“Korea Fest is about highlighting Korean culture and promoting diversity and inclusivity,” festival organizer Sarah Choi told Time Out. “We believe that, despite the few cultural festivals that currently exist, South Korea has a massive global appeal and footprint that hasn’t been properly represented.”
The event is free for anyone interested in joining. However, those who want to attend will need to obtain free tickets online through Eventbrite.
With the announcement of Korea Fest, it is hoped that with enough support, more Korean-centric events will be held in the city in the future.
Tickets are available here.
