Orioles’ third baseman Manny Machado suffered a serious injury late Monday when he strained his right knee ligament during a game against the New York Yankees. The injury could possibly leave Machado on a 15 day disabled list. Tuesday the Orioles received good news after anxiously awaiting the MRI results that Machado’s injury was actually not as bad as expected considering there was no significant damage done to his anterior-cruciate ligament or the medial-collateral ligament. Although he still needs to get a second opinion, the census is that he should be able to return within 6-8 weeks.
