Reggaeton Artist of the Month for March 2022

Bio

Bronx-born and Ponce-raised Pedro Juan Vázquez Bragan, better known as “PJ Sin Suela,”  is a Puerto Rican rapper and physician. Yes, he’s a doctor too! While rapping has always been a hobby and talent of his, he graduated from Universidad Central del Caribe in 2015 with an MD. He had started rapping for proms and small crowds around Puerto Rico, gaining popularity around the island, and by 2017 PJ found himself performing at sold-out venues across the US as the opening act of Residente’s US tour. He has worked with artist like Lin Manuel Miranda, Residente Calle 13, Visitante, Ñejo, Bad Bunny, Lápiz Conciente, and Guaynaa just to name a few.

PJ Sin Suela is known for his socially conscious lyrics and being socially and politically involved in Puerto Rico, and cites Vico C, Blink-182, Calle 13, and Eminem as influences. He particularly shot into bigger fame with his 2018 single, “Cual Es Tu Plan?” in collaboration with Bad Bunny and Ñejo, which reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and number 17 on the Billboard Latin Digital Song Sales chart. He has chosen to dedicate himself solely on his music career until the Covid-19 pandemic hit and he began to work full time as a doctor in Puerto Rico. Since then, he has released his 2nd album, “De Vuelta a Casa.”
