Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ Emotional Wedding

Nick and Priyanka’s wedding is a romantic and fascinating story.   The couple recently were married in Jodhpur, India, with two beautiful ceremonies, as they embraced their love and respect for one another. Most  people believe that the newlyweds  met at the 2017 Met Gala, but this love story goes back even further.
Nick stated to Vogue Magazine that he sent his first message to Priyanka in September 2016, more than Two Years ago,  through Twitter direct messages.  Priyanka responded to Nick,  suggesting he text her instead and the couple started private messaging and flirting, actually Months before the Met Gala. Social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter have become a platform for everyone, to develop friendships, business leads and of course, more intimate relationships.   It wasn’t until the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty in 2017 that they had their first face-to-face encounter.  According to sources, as soon as Nick saw Priyanka, he got down on one knee, in front of a bunch of people and said “You’re real. Where have you been all my life?” There has been much buzz about how quickly the couple got engaged, but apparently,  in the new Indian Culture, it is now acceptable for brief courtships to lead to engagement announcements.
Throughout this brief period, from when they first started talking until they got married, Nick has shown the utmost respect for Priyanka and her family. Priyanka made it clear she wanted to maintain her traditional values and have a ceremony in accordance with those values.  With both families present and both of their Cultures represented,  the couple held a western ceremony, officiated by Jonas’s father, Paul at the Unmaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. Chopra was wearing a custom Ralph Lauren wedding gown and Jonas wore a Ralph Lauren suit. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen were also trending with Ralph Lauren.  After the ceremony,  guests endulged in delicious slices from the staggering seven-tier wedding cake,  created in the same art deco style of the palatial wedding venue. The couple’s Hindu ceremony took place the next day. Priyanka quoted to PEOPLE Magazine,  “Being able to have two big weddings, in India, with our closest family and friends was unbelievably special”. Following the ceremony,  Priyanka’s family blessed her new life with Jonas with a ‘Bidaai’, a bridal ritual. “I love that our wedding was a religious mash-up”. The Jonas family honored Priyanka’s roots, wearing traditional outfits for the Hindu ceremony. “We took beautiful traditions that we both grew up with and personalized them in a way that made sense for us. It’s been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way.”
