Reggaeton Artist of the Month for August 2023
Meet RaiNao, a passionate Puerto Rican urban music artist whose musical journey began 16 years ago when she set her sights on attending the prestigious Libre de Música de San Juan School. Raised in Santurce, San Juan, she was influenced by her father, a talented vocalist who performed with renowned salsa bands. RaiNao’s musical journey took a significant turn when she joined forces with the famous Rafa Pabön, a fellow classmate from music school, who recognized her talent and invited her to join his tour as a backup singer.
But it was in 2020 when she decided to fully unveil her music and life project to the world. In her debut EP, ahora A.K.A. Nao, RaiNao stands out as a serious contender for future stardom. The album, released under a distribution deal with Rimas Music’s SONAR label, showcases RaiNao’s diverse talents and features a collaboration with rising star Villano Antillano. Her unique sound blends jazz, trap, and rock influences, creating a mesmerizing musical cornucopia.
As a female artist in a male-dominated industry, RaiNao’s music also carries a powerful message of heritage and feminism. She embraces her identity and seeks to break barriers, knowing that representation of women in her field is essential. With a performance as an invited guest at Bad Bunny’s latest concert in Puerto Rico, RaiNao’s star continues to rise.
