Rawayana is a dynamic and soulful reggae band hailing from Venezuela. Formed in 2007, the group has garnered international acclaim for their unique fusion of reggae, pop, rock, and Caribbean rhythms, creating a captivating and infectious sound. The band’s lineup consists of four talented musicians – vocalist/guitarist Alberto “Beto” Montenegro, bassist Antonio “Tony” Casas, drummer Andrés Story, and guitarist Alejandro Abeijón – each contributing their own distinctive touch to Rawayana’s music. Rawayana’s journey to success began with their debut album, “Licencia para Ser Libre” (License to Be Free) in 2011, which instantly resonated with fans and critics alike.
Over the years, Rawayana’s popularity has soared, and they have been invited to perform at major music festivals around the world, including SXSW in the United States. In 2018, Rawayana released their highly acclaimed album “Trippy Caribbean,” after which the band was nominated for Best New Artist at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards.
