Sabrina Carpenter Celebrates the Season With Netflix TV Special

Feeling festive this year, Sabrina Carpenter treated her fans to a nonsense and nostalgia-filled TV holiday special on Netflix. Full of surprise special guests, the pop star hosted the musical comedy special in front of a live studio audience.

“There are comedy specials, music specials, and holiday specials, but who does music-comedy-holiday specials?” Carpenter asked in one of her opening performances. “A lot of people. But do those specials have celebrity guests? Yes, they do. Everyone with a musical-comedy-holiday special does them with celebrity guests, and this is one of those.”

Her half-sung-half-spoken tongue-in-cheek jesting set the mood for what may go down in history as the most Gen Z Christmas special ever streamed on TV. Produced by Carpenter and At Last Productions, the sexy show included many double entendres, sultry performances of Carpenter’s holiday hits, and some of her classic non-holiday songs with a festive spin.

A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter featured duets with holiday-royalty Shania Twain, stunning Kali Uchis, and 2024’s “It Girl” Chappell Roan. The latter closed the show with a fantastic “Last Christmas” karaoke-style performance in a set that looked like a trashed New Year’s Eve house party.

Carpenter brought all the nonsense with her entertaining holiday sketches, written by Megan Amram, Jimmy Fowlie, and Fran Gillespie. The comedy portions included special guests Sean Astin, Kyle Mooney, and Quinta Brunson of Abbott Elementary fame.

“You could have been anywhere tonight, spending time with family, helping the less fortunate,” Carpenter jokes at the top of her unique. “But instead, you’re here, half-watching the big screen while scrolling social media on a smaller screen. And for that, I’m forever grateful.”

Full of light-hearted jokes, outstanding musical performances, and the glee and nostalgia that comes with a live-taped holiday special, Carpenter brought Christmas into the homes of every Netflix subscriber just a little early.
