Photographer of the Month for October 2022
Salma El Kashef is a cinematographer who creates visually stunning images that play with light and show people in intimate, personal moments. While the photographs depict stories of love, depression, heartbreak, and hope, her subjects frequently appear to be living in their own worlds and are unaware that they are being photographed. Not a week goes by without her releasing a new project and taking photos that are vibrant, well-lit, well-composed, transparent, and full of spirit. Salma uses her Instagram to exhibit her work, as well as to do exhibitions in Cairo. Some of Salma’s work is inspired by her travels, as we see how her work differs with every city.
Salma EL-Kashef is also a videographer and filmmaker. She has worked on multiple TV series in Egypt. She also creates cinematic advertising videos. One of her latest works was with the luxury Women Owned-Egyptian brand Okhtein.
Salma El-Kashef just announced that she’d be a part of Domestika, which is a global creative community where top experts share knowledge through professionally produced online courses. She also just turned 30, one of many milestones she’s achieved.
