Sam Smith and Kim Petras Set to Debut New Song “Unholy” on UK Chart

David Guetta and Bebe Rexha have kept a constant top on the U.K. singles chart with their hit new song “I’m Good (Blue),” but this single is facing a challenge from Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy,” which has powered to no.2 on the midweek chart. The OCC reports that following the 48 hours in the chart week, just a “handful of units” separated the two singles, with “I’m Good (Blue)” still on top of the leaderboard. “Unholy” has taken over Tiktok as well.

Petras and Smith began to tease the song in August when they posted a Tiktok in which they danced to the lyrics. “I hear you whisperin’ ‘bout the places you’ve been. And how you don’t know how to keep your business clean.,” Smith sings.

The video gained over 29 million views and hundreds of thousands of users quickly created “Unholy” videos of their own. The song has been used in everything from makeup tutorials to dance videos.

Smith said on Instagram that the song received over 10 million Spotify streams in 24 hours after its release as well.

“So excited for you to hear this. It’s unreal. I’ve never had so much fun making a record, so I hope you can all get weird and UNHOLY to it.,” Smith wrote on Thursday.

Luude and Mattafix’s “Big City Life” is also noteworthy on the Official Chart Update since it is on track for a 10-7 lift, for what would be a new peak, while Stormzy should grab his 25th top 40 appearances with “Mel Made Me Do It”. This seven-minute song is storming the charts at no. 13 debut.

On the album’s chart blast, D-Block Europe leads a tight race with Lap 5, which could give the hip-hop act its first chart leader. It is not certain at this time, though.
Mark Owen, Take That’s a founding leader, is just 1,000 chart units away from nabbing first place with Land of Dreams (BMG), which is his first solo record in nearly a decade. Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer’s fifth album 5SOS5 is close behind at no. 3 on the midweek survey.

Exploring the Magic of Movie Music

I once had a music teacher tell me that music is one of the greatest things to study, because from it we can learn math, science, history, and art. It uses math to create beautiful scores, and from it we can learn about sound waves and resonance. Music’s role in society throughout all of humanity, lends itself to a rich history that we can learn from, and of course it is a form of art. Because it is such a rich and expansive medium, it lends itself to many aspects of society, including film. Music has a transcendent quality that makes it the perfect match for film as a form of escapism. The transcendent qualities of music enable it to create an ambiance, influence people’s mood, and foreshadow story, unlike any other tool at filmmakers disposal.

Tukoh Taka – Did the FIFA 22 song deserve all that backlash?

The song has been getting a lot of backlashes for different reasons.
The song was heavily compared to Shakira’s previous World Cup songs, “Waka Waka” and “La La La.” With tons of Tik Toks asking for Shakira back.
While the audience admit that the song is catchy through the comments and video on Tik Tok, they are also criticizing the song for lacking… well lyrics.
the song consists of a verse of lyrics for each Myriam, Nicki, and Maluma, the rest is vocals, vibes, and repeating the phrase “Tukoh Taka.”

The Influence of Music Award Shows

It is officially the season of award shows. From the Grammys to the AMAs, there are so many different kinds of award shows, but why are these shows so crucial for the music industry? The recent generations of music have made a huge impact on the world. We have advanced technologically, and our entertainment industry seems like it is at its peak. It seems like the world has developed a big interest in fame and popularity as well. Award shows allow people to share a platform of change and recognition, not just in Hollywood, but all over the world. They are the biggest events of the year since they are basically how we define entertainment.

How Has Latin Music Influenced American Popular Music

There is no denying the significant impact Latin music has had on American popular music. This is demonstrated by the popularity of Latin-influenced music genres like salsa and Latin pop. Numerous American hip-hop and pop musicians have also sampled Latin music or worked with Latin musicians, providing additional proof of the impact of Latin music on American popular music.
The early 20th century saw a large influx of immigrants from Latin America, which is when Latin music first started to have an impact on American popular music. Their own music, which they brought with them, started to be heard in American cities with sizable Latin American populations.
