Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty line is just what I needed this summer

During the first few weeks of the summer, I became interested in the reviews that people made on singer and actress Selena Gomez’s makeup line Rare Beauty. Positive review after positive review I increasingly became engrossed in her line. A few eyeshadows and lip glosses later, I now own the whole collection and I hold no shame toward the fact.

The recent drop of the line’s ‘Discovery Eyeshadow Palette’ includes seven hues of the cosmetic brand’s long-lasting, crease-resistant product, collectively coined “True to Myself” shades. Matte and metallic finishes are available, which may be mixed and matched for a unique cosmetic look. The pigments have a smooth and creamy texture and come in a sleek packaging that is synonymous with Gomez’s line.

The ‘Always an Optimist Pore Diffusing Primer,’ on the other hand, is a soft, cushiony gel that blurs pores while allowing my skin to appear matte. The product absorbs excess oil and keeps you appearing fresh throughout the day. Hyaluronic acid, lotus, gardenia, and white-water lily are among the other components used to provide a nourishing and relaxing effect.

Having these two products, specifically, at hand during the summer has been heaven-sent as their textures and feels are not heavy or thick upon my skin. I, for one, usually break out during the summer because of the sweat and heat, and adding makeup upon these disastrous facial issues in the hot months makes matters dire.

Luckily, Rare Beauty’s products, as mentioned, are very light and airy and feel like they are barely there. Her products also feel very natural and do not over-decorate my face. If anyone were to ever ask me what I think of this line, I’d simply hand them the reviews I saw prior to trying it.

Rare Beauty, put simply, saved my life. For it to have the same effect on you, products can be purchased on Rare Beauty’s website or at Sephora.
