As if Kim Kardashian didn’t already have enough on her plate, in comes skincare. The reality star, model, media personality, and businesswoman launched her newest project, SKKN BY KIM, on June 21. The launch also signified a rebranding as Kardashian’s beauty line was formerly known as KKW.
After over one year of filing to trademark SKKN BY KIM, Kardashian finally announced the line via Instagram on June 1. It wouldn’t be a Kardashian announcement without backlash, and her post surely came with such. While many scoffed at the cost and extensiveness of the line, others have noted that the collection is indicative of Kardashian’s beauty dedication.
The new line is described as “A New Era of Skincare” which was inspired by Kardashian’s struggle with psoriasis.
“Sitting at the intersection of elevated simplicity and innovative science, SKKN BY KIM’s nine-product ritual was born out of Kim’s dream to bridge the gap between the world’s most renowned dermatological experts and people at home seeking high-quality skincare,” states the website.
The nine-product line is composed of a cleanser, toner, exfoliator, hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C8 serum, eye cream, face cream, oil drops, and finally, night oil.
In true Kim fashion, the entire collection is packaged in beautiful neutral tones that are meant to look gorgeous on any vanity. On her Instagram stories, she mentioned that her former husband, Kayne West, was a huge help in designing her products. “I always give credit where credit is due,” she said. “My creative process wouldn’t have been complete without Kanye.”
The complete nine-step collection may be purchased for $575. Each product is also available for individual purchase if you aren’t looking to house the entirety. In an effort to reduce resources, SKKN BY KIM products are refillable and are packaged inside recycled materials.
