Songs that Hit over a Billion Views on YouTube this Week

This week’s been a good week for artists like Sean Paul, Dua Lipa, David Guetta, Marshmello, and Bruno Mars as their songs have reached over a billion views on YouTube! Here’s the list of songs reaching this incredible milestone this week:

1. “Friends” by Marshmello and Anne-Marie

Haven’t I made it obvious? Haven’t I made it clear? Want me to spell it out for you? F-R-I-E-N-D-S! Anne-Marie and Marshmello released their single “Friends” in 2018. Since then, the lyric video of this incredible friend-zone anthem has hit and surpassed a billion views! Though “Friends” initially peaked at NO. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 2018, it eventually went on to be the ninth best-selling single of the year across the globe, according to the International Federation of Phonographic Industry. Their lyric video for this hit single is the second YouTube video for both artists to hit the 1 billion view mark. Marshmello and Anne-Marie’s official music video for “Friends” is not far behind with 942 million views and counting.

2. “No Lie” by Sean Paul and Dua Lipa

Five years after the release of this catchy dancehall single, Sean Paul and Dua Lipa’s official music video hits over one billion views on YouTube. This is Sean Paul’s third billion-viewed song on YouTube after reaching this milestone with his other tracks “Rockabye” with Clean Bandit and “Cheap Thrills” with Sia. “No Lie” has become Sean Paul’s most-streamed song as a lead artist across multiple streaming platforms, and in recent weeks the music video has been clocking around half a million new views a day. In January of 2022, “No Lie” made a comeback to the Billboard Global 200 chart, leading to the track’s certification as double platinum in the UK. It’s also been certified platinum in France and Sweden, but not yet in the United States.

3. “Bad” by David Guetta, Showtek, and Vassy

This accomplishment of 1 billion views on Guetta, Showtek, and Vassy’s lyric video for “Bad” marks Showtek and Vassy’s first entry into YouTube’s Billion Views Club. Almost eight years after the song’s release in April 2014, YouTube announced its milestone Wednesday. This marks David Guetta’s fourth video with a billion views after joining the Billion View Club with songs “Titanium,” “Hey Mama,” and “Play Hard.”

4. “That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars

On Wednesday, Bruno Mars reached a huge milestone of not just 1 billion views, but 2 billion views on YouTube for his hit song, “That’s What I Like.” This is his third song to reach this accomplishment after his 2014 hit “Uptown Funk” and his 2010’s hit “The Lazy Song.” “That’s What I Like” is Mars’ eighth No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, where it spent the entirety of 2019. The track also became his first No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and was awarded song of the year, best R&B song, and best R&B performance at the 2018 Grammys.
