Stevie Wonder just released two new songs after four years without releasing any new music. What’s more is these two new songs contain some very thought-provoking material.
In today’s politically charged climate, many influential and predominant figures are adding their thoughts, opinions, and messages to the narrative. Most recently, Stevie Wonder has released his two new songs, which have rather politically charged messages and commentary.
His song “Can’t Put It in The Hands of Fate” is a collaboration with Rapsody, Cordae, Chika, and Busta Rhymes. In this particular song, Wonder comments on the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests. He uses his lyrics to call out and reject those that oppose the movement using the sentiment of “all lives matter,” in the hopes of uniting people and enacting positive change.
His other release, “Where Is Our Love Song,” features Gary Jr. This song is an uplifting call for hope and peace. In these unprecedented and polarizing times, Wonder wanted to produce a song encapsulating many of these confusing emotions. All the proceeds from “Where Is Our Love Song” will be donated to Feeding America. These donations will provide aid to those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The songs were both produced and written by Wonder, and they are available on all platforms.
