Nicole Richie is in the spotlight. Despite her not so great history of being Paris Hilton’s “Bff,” and starring in The Simple Life, she has cleaned up her act and begun to make an impact in the fashion industry. She looked stunning in her elegant sleek black Antonio Berardi gown, which the 30-year-old fashionista wore when she was honored on Monday November 7, 2011 at the ACE Awards at Cipriani’s on 42nd Street in NYC. Richie was given the Influencer Award at the ceremony for her work as an accessories designer with House of Harlow 1960. Not only is she a designer for the famous house, but she now has her own collection called “Winter Kate.” Although Nicole was the big winner of the night she did not fail to remain modest. Richie noted that her success isn’t measured by dollar signs, but by the type of attention and feedback that she gets. This helps her stay close to her customer base, and fit their wants and needs. In celebration of her asward she spoke with WWD about her own personal style, and how her mother would get her matching outfits when she was younger. Now that she’s a mother, her style remains the same: She’s still wearing her 5-inch heels.
