How to Address your Wardrobe While in Quarantine

Being quarantined has made my motivation exponentially drop, making it hard to focus on things that I used to enjoy and to actually get dressed every morning. But, it’s important to keep ourselves in check and keep our minds healthy. While that entails eating well, working out, and staying hydrated, to me it also means getting ready every once in a while or trying to put an effort in everyday to look and feel better.

  1. Combining the comfy with the cute

One of the easiest tricks I’ve learned while in quarantine is that you can always do both. You don’t have to be completely decked out in a whole fit because in the end, we’re going to be staying home anyway. So, what I like to do is either be dressed in athleisure but do my hair and makeup, or pair a cute top with some sweatpants. After all, you only see top halves during Zoom meetings 😉

2. Some retail therapy

I usually advise against impulsive online shopping because once I start, I can almost never stop myself. However, I do believe it’s important to treat yourself every once in a while, and just because we aren’t going out right now doesn’t mean that you can’t treat yourself with new pieces every once in a while. We have all the time in the world right now, so you can finally try out new styles and see what suits your personality!

3. Dedicate 2-3 days of the week for full glam

Like I mentioned earlier, it’s important to keep ourselves in check. Quarantine, to me atleast, means no sense of routine and just limbo. With that being said, I like to dedicate two or three days of the week where I do my makeup, dress up in a cute outfit, and go about my day. This reminds me that there was ~a time before quarantine~ and keeps me sane.

4. SPRING CLEANING!

For my final tip, I recommend that every single one of you goes through their wardrobe and cleans it out! Rid yourself of anything you haven’t worn in the past six months or you don’t think you’ll wear once we’re a functioning society again. Now’s the time to do that and remember to recycle your clothing and make sure it goes back into thrift stores or stores to help the less fortunate because the fashion industry is one of the world’s main polluters!
