Summer Walker is “Still Over It” in Upcoming Album

Yesterday was the anniversary of the release of sultry R&B singer, Summer Walker, debut studio album, Over It. The album was released in 2019 and charted at the number two spot on US Billboard 200 with 134,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. Over It broke records marking it the largest streaming week for an R&B album by a female artist in regard to streams. The album solidified its top spot on the R&B charts for 14 non consecutive weeks as of July 2020. RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has now certified Over It platinum for a combined sales and streams of over 1,000,000 units in the United States.

Fast forward to the present, Walker officially announced that she will be releasing her second studio album late last week via a projector that reflected pink letters on the side of a building saying “Summer Walker Album #2 Coming November.” In the caption of her instagram post, she notified fans that more details will be released on the anniversary of her first studio album, Over It.

Walker, 25, kept her word and took to her social media platforms yesterday to give some important details regarding her upcoming second studio album. In a 32 second clip, walker can be seen continuing the same theme from Over It as the clip is said to take place two years ago on the day the initial album came out. Walker was on the phone with half of the rap group the City Girls, JT, as she was calling from a prison. JT was actually incarcerated in a federal prison at the time of the album release. This hinted to fans that JT will be featured on Walker’s next studio album. She seemingly recreated the reality of the date October 4, 2019 to indicate that this new album will indeed be a continuation. At the end of the clip, the release date was announced to be November 5 and the title of the second album will be, Still Over It. The media promotions and rollout definitely shows Walker is still over it and is ready to tell why.
