Among the recent increase in mass shootings, New York’s legislature passed a bill on Thursday to ban anyone under the age of 21 from purchasing—or possessing—a semiautomatic rifle. This law would also introduce a licensing requirement. The legislation to raise the age limit passed the Senate with 43-20 votes and the Assembly 102-47, and it is now waiting for Gov. Kathy Hochul’s signature. This law represents a huge change to the New York firearm laws passed days after Buffalo’s tragic shooting at the hands of an 18-year-old.

The Alpine team consists of 11 female athletes and 7 male athletes. 15 athletes joined the Freestyle Skiing Team and 8 will be in the Freeski Team.
