The minimum wage gap has reached an all-time high in the U.S. over the past decade. The federal minimum wage was first introduced in 1938. It was part of the Fair Labor Standards Act to help ensure that all work would be fairly recognized and further assured that regular employment would provide a satisfactory quality of life.
