The increase in Apple Watch users has inspired Apple to increase their focus on developing the Health portions of their iPhone and Apple Watch technologies, striving to empower customers to prioritize their health on a daily basis. Personally, I have witnessed multiple people close to me begin to consistently exercise and move simply due to the “rings” feature on Apple Watches, in which there is a daily goal that you can set that encourages users to get in a certain amount of steps and “standing time” throughout the day, discouraging people from sitting watching TV for hours on end. Small changes in one’s day-to-day movement vastly improves overall health, and Apple CEO Tim Cook has previously mentioned that Apple’s “greatest contribution to mankind will likely be health-related.”
