If there is any serious-topic Broadway musical that made an impact in the heart of the audience, it would be the Canadian production of “Come From Away.” Songs like “Me and the Sky” and “Welcome to the Rock” drew audiences in when it was newly released in the theatres. The story follows the people of Gander who experience the news of the terrorist attacks in New York City on September 11th. Because of this event, the U.S. airspace closed down for safety and 38 international aircraft found refuge at the Gander airport.
