This game was a capper to a seven-day, eight-game road trip, and the Giants were told that mechanical issues on the team plane would delay their flight back to San Francisco a few hours. They landed in San Francisco at 4:30 a.m. and weren’t able to go to bed until 5 a.m. with a baseball game to play against the defending champions in mere hours.
