It’s a good time to be a #Swiftie! Taylor Swift’s new album Folklore is the best-selling album of 2020. She has become the first singer to have seven albums each selling at 500,000 copies in a single week. This album debuted on July 24, 2020, and has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart and “achieved the biggest week for any album in the U.S. since Swift’s last release, Lover”. Since its release this week, Folklore has earned 846,000 album units in the U.S. and 2 million worldwide, with over half a billion total streams on audio and video in just one week. The album consists of 16 tracks that are composed of “lush acoustic arrangements that evoke folk music and chamber pop”. The tunes exhibit a desire to be taken seriously by a different demographic, one who appreciates the ruminative thrums and orchestrations. Undoubtedly, this album shows the vast reserve of Swift’s talent to a new and old audience. It opens up a road to show her immense talent to grown-ups, who had previously shielded themselves from her brand.

On her official site, she states that the tour will kick off in Stockholm, Sweden, in May and span Europe before hitting Philadelphia in July. Currently, the tour concludes in New Orleans at Caesars Superdome in September.
