Flashback Artist of the Month for December 2021

Bio

Also known as the most influential band of all time, The Beatles were an English rock band formed in 1960’s Liverpool. Comprised of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison, the band grew to be pioneers in recording, songwriting, and revolutionizing the music industry as we see it today. Lennon was murdered in 1980, while Harrison died of lung cancer in 2001. Both McCartney and Starr are still active in the industry today.

The Beatles covered genres including beat, 1950’s rock and roll, classical music, and traditional pop while incorporating ballads, Indian musical tones, psychedelia, and hard rock throughout their career. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, and each member individually was inducted between 1994 and 2015. The Beatles are credited as being the best-selling music act of all time with an estimated 600 million sales worldwide.

This past month, Disney+ released the Peter Jackson directed and produced documentary series titled The Beatles: Get Back. The series follows the Beatles during the making of their 1970 album, Let It Be, which had the working title, Get Back. Since it’s premiere, the 8-hour long series has been met with praise by both critics and fans.
