If you’ve never binge-read before, now is the perfect time to start! Similar to how you can easily press the “watch-next-episode” button when you’re into a really good show on Netflix, the same can happen when you pick up an amazing series. So, whether you’re a pro or just a beginner, these seven binge-read series are must-reads!
- Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
The Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi is poetic, imaginative, and powerful. This seven-book series is perfect for binge-reading because of Mafi’s fast-paced storytelling and compelling character development. Her world-building is excellent and effortless, making the reader feel as if they are right there with the characters, fighting their struggles with them. This series follows the life of Juliette Ferrars, showing her evolution, triumphs, and failures. This is a YA Fiction book taking on some sci-fi and post-apocalyptic themes. This series is gripping and leaves the reader wanting more! Luckily, in addition to this seven-book series is a mini collection of short stories about different characters to grow and develop the story around the novels. The best part about this series, besides the binge-worthy plot, is the number of books in this series. It’s the perfect series to start today!
- The Selection by Kiera Cass
The Selection series by Kiera Cass is a five-book series with the novella collection Happily Ever After as a bonus book for the series. This series is a royal take on The Bachelor in a country divided by a caste system. Our protagonist and female lead, America Singer is a Five out of the eight caste divisions Though she is in love with her neighbor who is in a lower class than she, America is picked to be a part of the Selection: an opportunity where 35 girls must try to win Prince Maxon’s heart and the title of future queen. Some tropes displayed in The Selection are friends to lovers, forbidden love, jealousy and rivalry, and bravery. I can’t recommend this book series enough—it’s fantastic!
- Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher
This amazing, gripping story was one I couldn’t shake for a while. Phycological and thrilling, this story follows the lives of two teenagers who wake up without any memories of each other, though they’ve been best friends and lovers for years. In order to write their wrongs, they have to discover each other again. The storyline intertwines beautifully despite it being written by two people. These notable authors collaborate to make this emotional, stunning, and binge-worthy read. Check out the trilogy Never Never as soon as possible!!
- The Blood Trail Chronicles by Tara Brown
Fae, vampires, dragons, oh my! The Blood Trail Chronicles has it all. Filled with intense character and world-building, flowing and quick-paced plot, vengeance and revenge, assassins and bodyguards, love and tension, this book is one of my favorite series of all time. Tara Brown writes her fiery and stubborn protagonist beautifully, embodying a perfectly realistic main character. Watch runaway princess Amelia avenge her family and find the truth of her origins in this epic and entertaining trilogy, The Blood Trail Chronicles.
- Outside By Shalini Boland
The Outside series by Shalini Boland is a post-apocalyptic trilogy following the adventure of two teenagers who live their privileged and sheltered life in the perimeter but go outside of their town’s border to avenge the death of their friend. This thrilling and adventurous story is exciting and suspenseful. Boland’s suspense-building is an art throughout this story, attaching the readers to her characters easily. This is a must-read and most definitely binge-worthy.
- Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Under the Never Sky is a glorious trilogy by Veronica Rossi, with two short stories about some of the supporting characters. Perfect for fans of the Hunger Games and Divergent series, this book has several reviews praising the story’s “inspired, offbeat, mesmerizing and incredibly original” plot. I’ve read this series twice because of the inventive and imaginative world Rossi builds. This compelling story follows Aria as she is banished from her home and sent to survive in the wastelands, known as the Death Shop. She knows she has slim chances of survival, but after meeting another mysterious wanderer, she might have some hope of staying alive.
- Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Delirium is one of my favorite series of all time because of Lauren Oliver’s amazing writing style. I love the development of the main character Lena as she faces this dystopian, controlling world she lives in. In a loveless world, she figures out the secrets of her past and realizes what her future would look like if she kept living with her head down. Her whole perspective changes when she meets a mysterious man who looks like he has more secrets than she does. This enchanting trilogy is a must-read for any YA dystopian lover!
