The NBA Finals are set. It will be the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Miami Heat in this year’s championship matchup.
The Lakers are coming off an impressive 4-1 victory against the Denver Nuggets, while the Miami Heat are coming off a very hard fought 4-2 victory against the Boston Celtics. This is a fun matchup, especially for me, because I predicted that the Lakers would be in the Finals and I am a diehard Miami Heat fan.
The Heat are the first 5 seed to make the finals since 1999 and this is the first time that both teams in the finals didn’t make the playoffs in the season before. This Lakers team is basically two elite Hall of Fame players surrounded by role players. They are going up against a team with great coaching and a complete team from top to bottom, but which lacks star elite all-star level talent, although Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler are definitely very close. This will be a battle. It all depends on how the Heat play Lebron and Anthony Davis defensively. I think this series will be closer than people think and possibly even go to seven games. My prediction is Lakers in 7, but you already know that I am rooting for the Heat all the way.
