Last year I was working on a television pilot called The Tryout.
It was a show similar to America’s Got Talent with the exception that it had a baseball theme to it. Baseball players who still had the dream of playing could try out.
After working on the show for two weeks I came to the conclusion that the best part of the show was the host. Her name is Gracie Cashman.
She was so good that by the end of the show I decided to have the show’s editor give me a copy of the trailer to the show so that I could give it to Jason FENIQUE an executive at the YES network.
All I told him was take a look at this and if something develops down the road you could possibly have a nice find in this actress.
Well as Faith would have it on May 9th an exciting new show will be premiering on YES called’The Story of My Number’.
In it, you will see some sports greats, especially some Yankee greats like Tino Martinez and CC Sabathia, and a very hilarious Nick Swisher being only like Swisher can be.
Naturally, they talk about why they chose the number they wore while playing but also why the number may of been chosen for them. You also learn from a Don Mattingly why he wanted to have his own special number and why it meant so much to him.
The research done on some of the facts about the numbers as Muhammad Ali used to say…Will Shock and Amaze You! As it did with some of the guests.
I knew that Gracie Cashman was a good talent when I recommended her to FENIQUE however after watching an episode of The Story of My Number I think that YES and the great Yes Network audience struck gold with her and this wonderful new show!
