‘Time Bandits’ at Apple TV+

Apple TV+ announced that they have decided against renewing their TV series ‘Time Bandits’. The series was an adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s film but survived just one season on television. The show finished airing its first season less than a month ago and was given the boot.

Stars of the show include Charlyne Yi, Lisa Kudrow, and writer, and director Taika Waititi. Despite having some big names, the show received just 78% on Rotten Tomatoes and did not do well in the United States. The show did well in the place it is set, the United Kingdom.

In an interview from July, Kudrow said this European background was one of her favorite parts about the show. “I just love that it wasn’t exclusively European history, which is basically all I’ve ever learned about, honestly, as an American [with] that European slant,”  so I love that it’s got these little introductions to whole other parts of the world that have a history and a culture.” She said.

She continued saying she loved her character Penelope’s humor and that it worked perfectly with her kind of comedy.  Kudrow said, “When I do really stupid things, just being completely unaware of something, that’s what makes me laugh the hardest, and it’s very human also, I think, to just not be aware of how you actually move through the world and how you’re perceived and what effect you’re having.”

Unfortunately, we will not be seeing any more of her playing Penelope. But you can watch 10 episodes of Season One on Apple TV+ now.
