With the most recent rerelease of the Jordan 4s, the Jordan brand is continuing to release retro pairs of sneakers. The legendary brand has created some of the most legendary and highest-selling basketball kicks ever. But of the 38 main flagship models, which are the best?
3. Air Jordan 3
The Jordan 3’s launched in 1988 and was the first time that an elephant print was put onto a Jordan shoe. It was also the debut of the Jumpman logo which is now one of the most iconic emblems of all time. Adding to the history of this shoe is the 1988 dunk contest. Mike won the contest with his signature free throw line dunk while wearing the 3s. It has now surpassed on-court performance and become one of the most stylish streetwear sneakers in the game.
2. Air Jordan 11
While the 11s are widely considered the greatest pair of Jordans money can buy, I have them a bit lower on my list. Dropping in 1995, they featured leather and mesh making them sleeker and cleaner than any of the shoes before it. The most popular colorways are the “Concords” and the “Breds” (black and red). There is also a rare colorway from the “Space Jam” movie that goes for more than $300 a pair. Aside from the film, another huge part of this shoe’s popularity was Jordan wearing them during the Chicago Bulls’ historic 72-10 season in 1996.
1. Air Jordan 1
The OG. First released in 1985, it was known for its unique style and bright colors. The NBA had to ban the sneakers because they did not follow their uniform rules at the time. This made them even more popular than they already were. These have now become the most notable basketball shoes ever. That “Bred” colorway is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of “basketball sneakers”.
