With the NBA season right around the corner, many fans are putting down Madden and starting to play the newest edition of NBA 2k. Each year the game comes out before the season and gives the players a rating based on their real-life stats from the year prior while also attempting to anticipate their season ahead. This year there is a new face in the top-rated point guard as well as some familiar ones, so let’s take a look.
3. Steph Curry- 95 Overall
For over a decade, Curry has been a top-rated point guard in the 2k franchise. His 99 three-point shooting and highly scored dribble moves give a massive boost to his overall. With that said, he snuck into the bottom of the list after a subpar year in Steph terms. He shot just 40.8% from three and while still impressive that is the second-lowest mark of his career. He also averaged a career-low in assists. While still in the top 3 point guards, this may be the last year we see Steph rated this high.
2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander- 96 Overall
A newcomer to the scene, SGA has become one of the best players in the league and undoubtedly a top-two point guard, if not number one. Two of his top attributes are playmaking at a 93, which is one of the league’s highest, and outside scoring at a 94. Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 30.2 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.4 rebounds per game last season, and finished second in MVP voting. He is truly the most talented pure point the NBA has to offer and don’t be surprised if his name tops this list in NBA2k 26.
1. Luka Doncic- 97 Overall
After making his first NBA Finals appearance last year, 2k developers made Doncic the highest-rated PG in their game. Luka put up 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game, and was even averaging a triple-double earlier on in the year. He also ended the season top three in MVP voting in what was statistically his best year to date. Doncic only seems to be getting better and it wouldn’t shock me if he quickly shoots up to a 99 overall this year if he starts as hot as he did in 2023-24.
