Donald Trump made some interesting remarks last night when asked if he thinks he should have been tougher on Iran after their attacks that injured troops in Iraq back in 2020.
“Injured means because they had a headache because the bombs never hit the fort…they all hit outside, and there was nobody hurt other than the sound, it was loud and some people said that hurt and I accept that”
CNN reports that the injuries suffered by these troops were “serious traumatic brain injuries”. They say that close to injuries 100 reports were reported and several of them were much more consequential than Trump alluded to in his statement.
Trump is “unfit to be Commander-in-Chief,” said the Harris campaign, statement last night.
That said, Trump also said to the reporter, “Nobody ever tougher on Iraq…when you say not tough, they had no money. They had no money for Hamas. They had no money for Hezbollah. And when we hit them, they hit us. And they called us, and they said, ‘We’re going to shoot at your fort but we’re not going to hit it…and if you were a truthful reporter, which you’re not, you would tell the following: None of those very accurate missiles hit our fort.” This was left out of CNN’s segment and is important to note when trying to get a better understanding of the full quote.
