Twitter suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene… again

Twitter has suspended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene once again after she shared misleading information about Covid-19 vaccines on the social media platform. She was temporarily suspended from tweeting for a week.

Greene tweeted on Monday that the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) shouldn’t formally approve the vaccines. She falsely claimed that there are “too many reports” of infection and spread of Covid-19 among vaccinated people and that these vaccines are “failing.”

“Vaccine mandates & passports violate individual freedoms,” she tweeted. A Twitter spokesperson said that Greene’s tweet is in violation with their Covid-19 misleading information policy. The conservative lawmaker’s account will be in read-only mode for a week and her tweet will be altered as “misleading.”

Public health officials and the Biden Administration have been trying to get as many people vaccinated as possible. In regions where large numbers of people are unvaccinated, Covid-19 and Delta variant cases have been skyrocketing.

Greene had been suspended by Twitter multiple times this year for making false claims about Covid-19 and voter fraud. She has compared wearing masks to the Holocaust and the vaccination promotions to the Nazis and Hitler.

Recently, she suggested that Southerners could threaten President Joe Biden’s “police state friends” with guns if they show up at their homes asking about their coronavirus vaccination status.
