Why Meal Prepping Saves Time and Money

While it is slightly intimidating, meal prepping saves money and time in the long run. Fitness gurus swear by meal prepping because is a great way to stay on track with your health and fitness goals. Meal prepping comes with the connotation of being extremely organized, but did you know that it can actually save you time?

The art of meal prepping has become more and more sophisticated throughout the years. From bento boxes to recipes that seem incredibly time consuming, meal prepping can be intimidating. Fortunately for busy individuals who do not have the extra hours to put towards meal prepping, there are tons of easy meal prep recipes that are delicious and easy.

Meal prepping should not be a stressful task. In fact, there are so many ways to make this process fun. If you are detail oriented, meal prepping allows you to go as detailed as you want. One go-to recipe that is a fan favorite is the classic rice, chicken, and veggies. Not only does this allow you to be creative with spices and sauces, but it hits so many different food groups. Additionally, quinoa and brown rice is a great alternative for traditional white rice!

For on-the-go breakfast, simple snacks such as eggs and fruit always do the trick. If you love oatmeal, overnight oats is the way to go. All you need is 1/2 cup of a milk of your choosing, 1/2 cup of old-fashioned rolled oats, 1/2 cup yogurt, 1 teaspoon of chia seeds, 1/2 banana, and toppings! Before refrigerating overnight for 5 hours, put your milk, oats, yogurt and chia seeds and banana into a jar. In the morning you can add more liquid and any desired toppings!

While it may take a little extra time and planning, meal prepping can save you about $9 a meal. Not only is it better for your health, but it makes for a fun activity!

So, in the last week, or two, all I could see on my timeline were memes and jokes about the newest addition to Taco Bell’s lineup of food they offer at their chains: chicken wings. Okay, the title for this article might be a little misleading, so let me clear this up from the start: I don’t have a single issue with oxtail. It’s great; it’s actually delicious. The true issue comes with the price for oxtail. If you’re someone like me who frequents Black twitter, you would often see people complain about the at times absurd prices for oxtail as the years have gone on. Now there is a very, very simple explanation for this: it’s becoming more popular.
