In an interview, the reality TV star Kim Kardashian admitted that she would be interested in joining the Marvel Universe.
This would not be the first time the famous Kardashian appeared on the big screen. She recently appeared as a voice actor in the 2021 kids movie PAW Patrol: The Movie, and her acting credits don’t stop there. She was also a part of the 2013 movie Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, along with the 2008 Disaster Movie.
When Interview Magazine asked Kim whether or not she would be interested in pursuing any more acting roles, she answered: “Would I act? I would if something fun came about. Maybe a Marvel movie would be so fun to do. I’m not actively looking, but I think things just come when they’re supposed to.”
Fans on Twitter are already speculating about the roles she could play. “At this point, I see it really possible now, something like a hero watching the Kardashians show,” one person wrote.
Stage four of the Marvel Universe saw the franchise move from its usual darker, intense storytelling to more lighthearted movies. Since this shift, the appearance of a celebrity like Kim Kardashian in the MCU isn’t so unlikely anymore, especially since she would be the first. There have been plenty of other celebrity cameos in the movies where all they do is play themselves. Elon Musk appeared in Iron Man 2, while Joan Rivers had a surprise appearance in Iron Man 3 when she played herself as a talk show host. Recently, even the famous rapper Megan Thee Stallion appeared in episode three of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law as a version of herself.
Not all fans are enthusiastic, though. Another one on Twitter said, “I like Marvel, but allowing it to become a playground for vapid reality stars and musicians with no acting experience would be the quickest & most efficient way to turn me off the MCU for good.”
Regardless of your view of reality tv stars, Kim’s everlasting ability to remain relevant might be the golden ticket necessary to join the franchise.
