Yogi Berra inspired many kids including Batboy Billy Pinckney

Yogi Berra is not forgotten. One of sports most famous stars will always be accredited with inspiring thousands of kids into growing in the right direction.

Yogi loved children with a passion and always went out of his way to send the right message to them.

One of those kids is a young man named Billy Pinckney. Billy is a college student at Montclair State University who met Yogi when he was a little boy.

He got to understand the magnitude of what Yogi represented to the world and also the kind of person that Yogi was and Billy took it all in.

Through Yogi Billy learned humbleness and kindness and honesty. In general, Billy wanted to try to be a good person like Yogi.

In time Billy would become a Batboy for the New Jersey Jackals, a minor league team. While there Billy would experience all facets of Baseball operations including be the director of digital content. Through my own investigation, I don’t think there isn’t anything that this young man can’t do in a front office setting.

I became curious with this young man when I would see him conducting interviews with high-profile athletes and attending many charity events on social media.

My prediction is that Billy Pinckney could possibly become the next Brian Cashman or Omar Minaya if he wants to operate a sports team or maybe even the next Vince Scully or Michael Kay in the broadcast booth.

Anyway, you put it, Yogi Berra is still inspiring this young man and many others.

I guess it really ain’t over till it’s over!
